Dear members and colleagues,
Through its extensive network, BPS-UWM was able to secure rare opportunities with local biotech partners to offer on-site tours at their facilities. The tours will take place over the course of summer 2019. The series of tours aims to offer graduate students industrial exposure and help local biotech companies showcase their work, culture and facilities. Each tour is roughly 2 hours and will consist of a short presentation by the company, a guided tour of the facility and a Q&A session. During each tour, participants will have direct interactions with Managing, Marketing and R&D personnel. It is a great opportunity for graduate students to learn about the companies and network with professionals. In June and August 2019, we will feature ImBed Biosciences (June 28th, 1PM~3PM) and OnLume (August 9th, 1PM~3PM) in tours. To get the most out of the tours, we would like to limit group size to 6 people. If you are interested in participating in either of the tours, please enter your information in the form. The deadline for entries is June 15th. Selected individuals will be notified via emails no later than June 19th. Happy summer! BPS-UWM Team Dear members and colleagues,
After months’ preparation, BPS-UWM is proud to announce its first professional development and networking event. The event will feature scientists who transitioned out of academia recently. It gives current students a fresh perspective on the transition. The panel consists of individuals actively involved in research & development, business & development, scientific communication and intellectual property law. The diverse panel provides current graduate students with a broad spectrum of career choices. The event will take place on May 17th in room 2131, Hector F Deluca Biochemistry Building. The discussion starts at 5pm followed by a catered reception. To RSVP, please fill out the google form here. This event is supported by Biophysical Society Networking Grant. Happy Summer!
